chosen again by James Magazine in its December 2005 edition as

one of the top lobbying firms in Georgia. Massey & Bowers was

honored by being placed in the Top 5 of each category for the

The December issue of James magazine included the results of a poll
conducted with  business and political leaders in Georgia.

Among the new firms faring well was Massey and Bowers. Lewis
Massey was former Lt. Governor Pierre Howard's chief of staff
and a former Georgia Secretary of State, while Bruce Bowers is the
son of former Attorney General Mike Bowers, and a long-time GOP
activist.
Massey & Bowers was one of only 2 firms to finish in
the top 5 of all three categories polled, Most Influential, Most
Knowledgeable and Most Integrity.

 


Watson Named Perdue’s Chief of Staff
Governor Sonny Perdue today tapped veteran political operative and
legislative and public affairs expert John Watson as his new Chief of
Staff.  He will replace Eric Tanenblatt effective January 1, 2004.

John K. Watson has been active in politics, government, and business at
the local, state and federal levels for more than fourteen years.  He
served as General Consultant to Governor Perdue’s highly-effective
campaign for Governor and as Vice Chairman of Governor Perdue’s
transition.   He then helped form a public affairs firm -- Watson, Massey &
Bowers LLC where he serves as President and Managing Principal.  The
company’s partners include former Georgia Attorney General Michael J.
Bowers, Bruce E. Bowers, and former Georgia Secretary of State Lewis A.
Massey.

Massey leaving SciTrek for lobbying firm
Lewis Massey is leaving the top post at SciTrek to return to the fray of
state politics as a new partner in the lobbying firm Watson & Bowers LLC.

A Democrat who was Georgia's secretary of state from 1996 to 1999,
Massey will provide ideological balance at a firm that has been
dominated by Republicans since it was founded earlier this year.

Perdue names new chief of staff
Gov. Sonny Perdue has tapped veteran political operative and legislative

New business for Bowers
After 130 years of Democratic control in Georgia, the small inner circle of
Republican power players is just starting to widen.
